I was raised in Bancroft, a small village in central Ontario and a great place to wander as a youth. Following a time at university, I moved to the West Coast and spent ten years in and around British Columbia. Currently, I live and work in Kitchener, Ontario.
My art reflects a process of translating the day to day natural landscape into my own voice, whether in the form of paintings, drawings, or sculpture. It is very much like a conversation, where ideas and inspirations interact with the medium. The work responds with strength and weaknesses that I must observe and work with, resolving them as the conversation progresses. What interests me is to bring across an emotional quality, a sense of familiarity, movement, and always a respect for nature.
